RSV (Respiratory Syncitial Virus) is here. It is a respiratory virus that causes “really bad” colds in most children, but it can cause bronchiolitis (a viral pneumonia like illness) with wheezing in infants. Unfortunately, there is not much we can do to treat this infection other than time and fluids. If a child has respiratory difficulties, needs oxygen or is not eating or drinking, we need to use the hospital for supportive care.
