It seems pretty early to start thinking about influenza, but you certainly hear and see advertisements from pharmacies promoting flu vaccine. We also have some of our shipment, but believe it is best to begin administering it in mid to late September. This year, Flumist, the nasal spray, will not be used. The CDC determined that last year it was only 3% effective. Pediatricians find this hard to believe because across the country, no one reported a bump in cases in patients who received that vaccine. We will have plenty of vaccine for the coming season. Please call to schedule an appointment.
